‘Build me a Story’ sets out to research the world of narration in spatial settings. The main purpose of this research was to find out if a retail environment could be improved through three-dimensional storytelling.
In order to achieve this, design guidelines to implement storytelling into a retail concept were created and a new retail concept was developed to demonstrate the benefits of storytelling. This resulted in an educational and inspiring store, which uses storytelling to unfold its numerous secrets.

Beetstreet is a new retail concept for the city dweller. It offers everything that is needed to grow radishes, carrots or strawberries on the balcony or in the urban garden: seeds, plants and tools together with all the information and knowledge that is desired. The store is like a travel book telling all the stories instrumental in discovering garden country.

Beetstreet turns city dwellers into happy gardeners, celebrating the city and enjoying city life everyday. Beetstreet reflects the Zeitgeist in many ways: increasing urbanization, scarcity of resources, as well as a growing concern about the origin and quality of food are all reasons for this approach.Beetstreet is a new retail concept for the city dweller.
